Japanese Mac enthusiast website, MacFan, have rumoured that Apple will probably be saying the iPhone 5S at a special event on Thursday June 20, with the brand new model going on sale in July
The report, in line with Electronista, rumours that the subsequent iPhone - supposedly the 'iPhone 5S' - will probably be formally announced in June, going on sale a number of weeks after.
Also mentioned in the report was the release of a 'low-cost' version
that will be aimed at developing countries around the world such as
India and China, potentially being released in August, rumoured as the 'iPhone 6.'
Electronista says the rumours from MacFan are plausible but has not stated where the informaton has been gathered from.
MacFan have also posted that a new update of iOS could be previewed,
or even announced, at Apple's special event in June but Electronista
have said the idea of this seems dubious.
Apple analyst Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray recently predicted a late June release for the smartphone and suggested the company will sell 4 million handsets before the month and the quarter are over.
Previously released iPhone's such as the iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4 have all been released during the June/July period using the Worldwide Developers Conference and only the iPhone 4S and 5 have come out in the fall.
