Apple is well-known for submitting an enormous variety of patents nevertheless every so often there comes alongside something which may just appear in the subsequent iPhone.
Apple has filed a patent which shows a new iPhone design sporting a
wraparound AMOLED screen, the phone appears to be similar in design to
the fourth generation iPod Nano.
The unique aspect of the phone however is that the screen can be
'unrolled' or 'unfolded' thanks to a hinge or unfolding mechanism
allowing the screen area to be almost doubled in size.
Along with the screen technology Apple has included a range of
advanced technologies including facial-recognition, gesture control and
the layering of screens to create a 3D display.
Unsurprisingly Apple has also mentioned the advantages that a fully
glass body would have on radio signal, eliminating any of the problems
that Apple faced when the iPhone 4 first came out.
Apple hasn't shown any interest as yet in bendable displays however
it might see the benefit of being able to have a small product which can
fold out to produce a larger screen, especially for the iPod Touch and
Nano ranges.
