Speaking on behalf of Lamborghini, president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann added: “The second Super Trofeo series in Asia comes alongside the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini, celebrating 100 years of innovation in half the time, bringing further measures of Italian passion and excitement to this extreme racing series.” Each stop of the Super Trofeo racing series includes a 35 minute long qualifying race to determine the driver’s starting position, followed by two 50 minute long races for amateur and pro-amateur drivers, ultimately proclaiming 4 champion teams. World renowned Shanghai International Circuit will host the debut race for this year’s Super Trofeo Asia Series, and will be followed by distinguished international circuits in Malaysia, Korea and Japan before returning to Shanghai and then to Macau for the grand final. Further excitement will emerge at this stage as the Super Trofeo grand final will take place during the Diamond Jubilee Macau Grand Prix, where a convoy of the worlds’ most celebrated names in automotive existence will accompany Lamborghini in staging world class car racing. Further milestones will form as the Super Trofeo series in Europe, Asia and the United States unite in Rome for a culminating grand finale of all champion racers towards the end of the year.
